Privledge

I have never really written a lot of poetry. Here is a poem I wrote though. Let me know what you think.

Privledge

Age is a curious thing
"Time passes quickly,"
yet you never age.
"You have grown up so much,"
yet you are still a little kid.
Yes, age is a curious thing.

Responsibility is a curious thing.
You gain more as you age,
yet what again is aging.
But it can be taken,
if you don't agree with your elders.
Yes, responsibility is a curious thing.

Respect is a curious thing.
Others expect it,
but you never get it.
You seem like the villain when you do not show respect.
You want to scream because they think they deserve it.
Yes, respect is a curious thing.

Privilege is a curious thing.
You gain it with age,
yet it will somehow always be taken away.
It’s a word mentioned in dispute-
an attempt to gain respect.
Yes, privilege is a curious thing.

You would think
after all these years,
that others might be right,
older doesn't always mean wiser,
and age is just a number.
Yes, its a curious thing.

That's pretty deep. Sounds like a young person finally learning to speak out for all of us!
