The Mirror

She looks at herself in the mirror.
Her hair is knotted.
As a child, her mother spent hours
combing and combing her hair.

She looks at herself in the mirror,
she is wearing no makeup.
Her best friends gave makeovers to one another,
laughing the days by.

She looks at herself in the mirror,
the lines of her numerous smiles are visible.
Parties, friends, boyfriends,
she was happy.

She looks at herself in the mirror
her ears are pierced.
She went with her daddy
because she needed his support.

She looks at herself in the mirror
Icy, blue eyes stare back.
Sunken rings of black
show how sad she has been.

She looks at herself in the mirror,
because she can’t help but look.
She lost her friends, family, and social life.
Happiness is only a memory.

She looks at herself in the mirror,
a skeleton stares back.
83 lbs. and 5”1’
and she’s not good enough.

Hmm oh and will ya tell me if all of them were the same girl? I'm trying to figure it out and I feel like they're different...

it is the same girl. its just her looking at herself in the mirro and seeing different parts of her body. it is the same girl and shows how she started out so happy and liked what was there, but how she changed.

thank you guys for reading. The other night I wanted to write a poem and I never really write poetry so it took a while, but i like the way it turned out.
