NaNoWriMo is 2 months away...
It finally hit me that I completely failed my New Years Resolution to write more. In fact I haven't written anything in over a month... *sigh*
But as I realize that November is right around the corner I have no plans as to what to write. 60 days or so does seem to give me a good amount of time to do a bit of plotting and or atleast give me a story to write.
Last year I did Becoming Dead. I thought I might take this years NaNoWriMo the chance to finally rewrite it. But that doesn't sound to appealing, even though I really should. Then I thought maybe I could finaly write that story that took place in a small mountain town(more or less inspired by Everwood) I mean I already written a small little excerpt for it titled The Sketch(which I was pleased to learn I did rather well based on the critiques I recieved over at writingforums.org) but I no longer have any desire to even write that right now.
Of course then there is the novel idea that I would hope to one day publish. But that hasn't really formed much of a plot or storyline. That and I want to post what I write on here so...
So now I am stuck. 2 months seems like a long time, but by the time November comes it will probably feel like I had just made this.
Hmm... what to write what to write. I am not even sure what genre I would want to do. I think I might do high fantasy. But other then that I got nothing.
Oh well I guess November is really forever from now.

Picture this! An alternate world, controlled by a personal Hitler of sorts... In this world, it's a crime to tell stories, to lie, to hope, and even a crime to dream... A brave person in this world gets the courage to fight the higher power and gets an army of sorts to defeat the evil government...
Hey! That's actually a pretty good idea! Wouldn't you agree?
Of course it's nearly 6am and I have yet to get any sleep, any idea would sound good this late/early...

Try this. A teenage boy finds out he has the ability to manipulate time. He can make the world around him slow down a a snail's pace or make an hour go by in less then a second and he is outside the effects. For a while everything is beyond awesome. He feels like a god. Like he can do anything. He gets everywhere unnoticed, he uses only a few seconds of real world time for sleeping he does whatever he likes. Until one day he gets a stroke. He wakes up in the hospital four weeks later but when he wakes up time has stopped permanently for him and he has no power whatsover anymore. He becomes isolated from the world . He can't talk with people, he can't listen to music, can't watch TV, can't drive cars. Everything is completely static. Even the rain doesn't move. He can move objects but that's all . And it's permanent night for him.
You can follow his mental breakdown from there

Weird... I haven't seen Equilibrium in at least 5 years, how it's storyline came to me as a possible story for Unit, I have no clue...

OK! ANother awesome idea hit me! *Gets back into story-pitching mode"
OK! Now imagine... It is almost Halloween in a sleepy old town. Autumn leaves litter lawns and sidewalks, paper skeletons hang in windows, and carved pumpkins leer from stoops and front porches. The protagonists soon discover that something has awoken in the town, and this will be no ordinary Halloween. What is the secret of the ancient tree and the mysterious book discovered tangled in its roots? What rises from the local churchyard in the dead of night, sealing up the lips of the only witness? And why are the harmless trappings of Halloween suddenly taking on a creepy new life of their own? As nightmarish creatures prowl the streets, the protagonists must battle to prevent both the townspeople and themselves from suffering a grisly fate...
I have a feeling this has already been done before in some random movie not on my mind at the moment... Well, it *Kinda* sounds like Halloweentown 2, but different at the same time...

So is it a contest? If so, you're gonna need to improve your mechanics. You know I'm a huge fan of your writing style, but your grammar is a little iffy. This is where I come in. I shall edit your story.
This is obviously my attempt to take my cut of any possible (cash?) prizes that may be involved.

Sorry, Hannah, you're out of luck!
It's not a contest, just a way of helping writers get inspired to write a novel, they have all of November to write 50k words and if you reach that minimum you get a certificate of sorts, I believe.... No editing needed, they just want the words!

Uh, NO! I'm not ready at all! I've been doing well with writing at least a little most days (some of which I need to send you for notes if I ever get around to it), but I'm not at all ready to commit to that many words per day. I really want to do it this year though since I was too busy last year with school.

Oh would be interesting if someone other then myself did it on here.
Oh come on its only 1667(I think) words per day, not so bad really.
Heres hoping you do participate this year though. It can be a bit frustrating when you realize you really don't feel like writing and all that fun stuff. Also if you haven't you should check out the official forums, great place to hang out... well when its active. Not sure how active it is currently haven't been on myself.

I've decided to go ahead and commit to it, but I probably won't post much of what I write on here because if my idea goes as I want it to I might try to submit it/parts of it for publication. I would of course love to send it along in a PM or something for notes though.
And it's not the word count I'm worried about...it's that by the end I might have 50K words of complete crap .

Ahhh what the hell. We might as well make a threesome out of it. I will give it a shot. I am sure it will be completely crappy and full of a massive amount of spelling and grammatical error and the plot probably won't make sense but what the hell. It might be fun

Yay always wanted to be in a threesome...
Though I have to admit its not exactly what i had in mind.
Anyways the whole thing is for fun. Well it also helps writers find time to actually write and to get the story down and such but... yeah for fun. So I wouldn't really worry about the spelling and grammar errors.

lol isn't that a given? I mean in NaNoWriMo its the Quanity that counts, not quality. Besides if its something you want to continue after the month is over then its easy to go back and readjust things.
Also you can feel free to PM me if you want something Critiqued/Reviewed. Though right now I am still working on my Reviewing skills.
Though you can join writingforums.org and once you meet the requirments to use the Review Room(post 2 constructive critiques for every 1 story you post) you can get alot of great honest reviews that go into detail about what parts you can improve and friendly suggestions.
