Have you been to a dentist?

There is something wrong with one of my teeth and I think I might have to go to a dentist. So I was curious. Has any of you been to a dentist? They always make it look scary in the movies? How messed up is it?

I go every 6ish months and have since I was like 2. It's not at all scary. It can be painful and I don't particularly like going but it's not bad unless you don't take care of your teeth.

I actually work at my dentist's office and did last summer as well. It made me like it more just because I know everyone a lot better. Unless you have a creepy/bad dentist it's really not bad.

I used to go every six months, but my dentist has way too many patients, so if you have to cancel your appointment you're waiting at least 6-8 months for another one for a routine cleaning. This happened to me a couple times because you have to book so far in advance, between starting new jobs and classes. I ended up with my first cavity because of the douchebags. It was small and he used a white filling so it doesn't show, but still. Grr. Anyway, I opted out of getting novacaine. Didn't hurt much, just a couple times when he was drilling. It was the kind of pain like when you bite into ice cream or something reallly cold if you have sensitive teeth.

I have and they are fucking evil. The dentist is actually one of my legitimate phobias, though.... I literally can't go to get work done unless they put me out.

So I have to book an appointment as well. Hmm. And do you recognize a good dentist from a abd one? Are there any external signs?

Wait they drug you!? I thought they simply gave you that laughing gas

You should be able to do some research on dentists around you. If I Google mine, reviews come up. And I've never seen a negative one. And when you walk into the office, it shouldn't look or seem dirty or anything like that.

And yes they can drug you. They usually don't but sometimes they have to.

Novacaine shots do hurt a little bit even though they numb your gums with Orajel (or something similar) first so it's not that bad. I don't mind when they do it.

People don't really use the internet much for such things around here but yeah I guess should look around

Oh is cavity like a small pin sized white spot on your tooth? Kinda like some extra bone on it? Cause that's what I have. Its' extremely tiny but I don't want it to get worse

A cavity is basically a little hole in your tooth. They use a filling to fill it so it's not a problem anymore.

I go to the dentist and orthodontist and I'm one of those crazy people that love going to the dentist. You get a goodie bag to take home and I love the feeling of having cleaner teeth after my appointment.

Haha! I get a new tooth brush, mouth wash, toothpaste and floss every time I go.

I used to get a toothbrush when I was a kid. But now apparently I'm too old for free shit haha
