The stars lean down to kiss you;

Lying awake, night to night
trying to ease the empty feeling
alone at his piano he would write
and let his imagination go.

He would go to the Velvet Sky
Beneath the Northern Lights in the cold
on the wing they would fly
thinking of their weekend of love.

They would go to his room
and fall with the fireflies
around him they would zoom
and dance the night away.

He would go out to his porch and look at the stars
thinking of the girl he loved
he would lie awake and watch the cars
and think of how much he missed her.

In the morning he would wake
strap it on and off he would go
all around is helmet the earth would quake
of the threatening cave in.

He would take his girl to the beach
making sure to live and learn
but the sun was slightly out of reach
and he got a sunburn.

They would play around in the sky
with a maroon balloon they made
high above the city they would fly
in their cold atmosphere.

He would return home that night
and sit at his piano again
playing, as his dreams took flight
and took him into a wonderland.
