The boyfriend and I ventured up to Maine for a few days this week and I just wanted to share yesterday's sunrise.

Needless to say, we're now searching for apartments in the Portland area and saving up to move. We found several affordable ones and USM has my major. Probably wont be able to swing it this year, but the fingers are crossed for next year!

Omg I'm saving the watermelon head. If my mom insists on throwing me a graduation party in a couple years when I get my bachelors degree, I want one- wearing a little graduation hat. It's so creepy it's awesome!

Thanks! I hope so too. I might have to stick around for two years and get my bachelors done here. Cheaper. It'll open up better job opportunities there too. Instead of flipping burgers or getting abused at a cash register, I can get my foot in the door somewhere and advance when I get my masters. I have to talk to an advisor and see if it's possible to get it done quicker. I'll take summer and winter classes if I have to. I neeeed to get outtttt of this horribleeee stateeeeeeeee.

You know where it's even cheaper to get your bachelors done? Outside USA. Seriously you should check out your international options. They are some amazing programs

The actual education may be cheaper, but the travel expenses are what will bite me in the ass- I would want to fly home every break. I like my family and I want to be close enough to where I can get back home in a day if something happens(the area in Maine I want is about 6 hours away, give or take). The school I'm looking at is a state school at least, so it's about 12 grand cheaper if you're a state resident. I'd have to live there a year and get my license and stuff all transferred over, which I'll probably end up doing for my masters. And, once I'm over 25, I'll get more financial aid because it will be based off of my income instead of my mom's. I won't be done with school until I'm 30, but hey, shit happens. I'll be happy and living 10-45 minutes away from the ocean.
