Would you kill yourself?

So I started watching Fringe and I saw this really interesting situation and it got me wondering.

If there was a situation where your consciousness could be replaced with the consciousness of you from an alternate dimension would you do it? It would still be you but your memories and experiences would be different. You would lose about 40% of your life(as in memories) and the people you know would be different from the ones you know(for examples suddenly your sister may have two children, your parents could be still married instead of divorced and so on)

However you think that this other you is a happier and better version of you and you think that if you become them you too would be happier and better

For some reason, at first read, this made me think of a nightmare I had last year... Where my sister had me tied up and she was forcing me to watch her murder Liz by chopping off her body parts, one by one. I was stuck in that nightmare and literally couldn't wake up from it and all I remember was I was willing to do anything just to take Liz's place, I didn't want her to be the one to die.

In the case you mentioned though, I'm not sure... I mean, my life sucks sometimes, but there are things I love about it and wouldn't change for anything.

I do have the worst nightmares, they feel more like psychological horror movies. XD

Nice! I am still on the term. I mean I like my life but essentially resetting yourself seems like a rather fascinating experiment. Hmm

Nah. After watching Orphan Black I think I'd probably stick with my current life. I mean yeah it might appear to be a better life... but is it? I mean for all you know you might just end up hating the new life you have. At least with this life you know how you feel about it.

OF course maybe that other life is just far more amazing.

I suppose this scenario doesn't allow me to change my mind or at least fully study the other life? Because the more I know about this potentially new life the more likely I might choose yes.

I know right!?  I should have started long ago. It's such an awesome show. And I am absolutely convinced that Walter is a Time Lord who has taken a human form(I mean dude come on they even show Rose's Dad's dimension!)
